Climate.now is a module for learning and teaching the basics of climate change. It has been created to provide a 5 ECTS course in higher education. Thanks to its multidisciplinary approach, the material can be used in different fields, as well as for training purposes in organisations or companies. Climate change is a multidimensional topic with a number of cross-disciplinary challenges. The content and learning outcomes of the Climate.now are based on the understanding of:
1. climate change as a scientific phenomenon,
2. how it can be prevented (mitigation), and
3. how adaptation is possible.
In addition to providing the basic knowledge, another equally important goal is to reinforce the student’s understanding of climate change as a deep human and societal challenge and to give everyone the means to participate in resolving it.
In this course, you will learn what the circular economy means and why it is needed. In addition, you will acquire a deeper appreciation of the importance and opportunities of the circular economy through four different subject areas and, at the same time, gain a comprehensive picture of the practical applications of the circular economy. As multidisciplinarity, shared expertise, and systems thinking are strongly linked to the circular economy, the course is constructed considering these perspectives. After completing the course, you will be able to understand the problems of today’s consumption of resources and how the circular economy can help in resolving these problems, become familiar with approaches that could promote the circular economy, and create a vision of practical activities that different sectors could undertake to promote the circular economy.

The course has two parts: 1) The Circular.now is an online course on the MOOC platform, and you can take the course in your own pace. 2) Individual assignment
