37004 and 37004-V International Trade: The law of the World Trade Organization, 2018-2019, Helsinki & Vaasa
The course offers an introduction to international trade and intellectual property rights. Thus, the course will explore the structure, principles and main Agreements shaping international trade within the World Trade Organization (WTO). Analyzing the principles contained in GATT, GATS, the TRIPS Agreements and the Doha Declaration will provide you with a wider view on the link between international trade, and both importance and challenges related to intellectual property rights.
NOTE: The main focus of this course is WTO Law, the relationship between IP and trade is explored but this is by no means an IP focused course.
